At Abadía Retuerta the harvest is a combination of nerves, excitement and meticulous work, but it also brings us a bunch of endearing moments. Undoubtedly, one of our favourites is picking grapes for Vendimia Solidaria, a wine that helps us raise funds every year for local non-profit organisations.
This year we have worked with El Puente Salud Mental, an association based in Valladolid which seeks to improve the quality of life of people with mental health problems and their families.
It was a pleasure for us to have many of its members and supervisors in the vineyard actively involved in picking grapes for this wine. They enjoyed doing an activity that in most cases is totally new to them —they get to spend a week in the countryside and learn a little bit about wine.
Here is the story in pictures of the week spent at Abadía Retuerta.
